Step 1 — Let us help you.
Let us help you get started with services to better your child.
What is the process for getting started with Better Beginnings?
If you do not have already have Early Intervention services…
01 — Referral
Ask your pediatrician for a referral, or you can self-refer by visiting BabyNet and clicking “online referral form.” BabyNet is for ages 0-3. If your child is older than 3 years old, please ask your pediatrician or family physician for a referral.
02 — BabyNet Intake
BabyNet should contact you for an intake. BabyNet is for ages 0-3.
03 — Discipline-Specific Referral
If your child is older than 3 years old, and the referral is from a physician, they will need a “discipline-specific” referral. For example, if your concern is language, the referral should be for speech therapy. If you have questions about the referral process, please contact our front office at 864-591-3484.
04 — Better Beginnings Intake Process
Once our intake coordinator receives your referral, we will call and schedule services (insurances and Medicaid will be evaluated during this time). For more information on providers, please visit our FAQs.

Expect to review any history, including pregnancy history (if pertinent), medical history / diagnostic history, any previous therapies, etc. The evaluating therapist will conduct an assessment of your child’s skills to determine a plan of care, including short-term and long-term goals.
